(Hai Duong Newspaper) – Quang Ruc Hamlet: A Community United in Solidarity
Thanks to unity and dynamism, the lives of people in Quang Ruc Hamlet, Hong Phong Commune (Ninh Giang District, Hai Duong Province) have significantly improved, making the hamlet a shining example of community development in the district.

Residents of Quang Ruc Hamlet warmly welcomed Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Trần Đức Thắng, along with leaders from central and provincial departments, to celebrate the National Great Solidarity Day.
In early November, the main road leading to the Cultural and Sports Center of Quang Ruc Hamlet was brightened with red flags and vibrant decorations. The lively spirit of the Great Solidarity Day spread throughout the hamlet.
Despite her advanced age and poor health, 87-year-old Đinh Thị Bé made her way to the celebration, describing it as a meaningful festival for the whole community. “I attend this festival every year, but this year brings even more joy. Our old cultural house has been replaced with the most modern Cultural and Sports Center in the commune. Previously, cultural and sports activities were limited due to poor facilities. Now, with this spacious and beautiful new center, we have a welcoming place for community engagement and bonding,” she shared.

Businessman Bùi Trọng Tấn, a native son of Quang Ruc, donated VND 400 million to build homes for veteran association members in the commune. Most notably, the Cultural and Sports Center of Quang Ruc Hamlet—valued at VND 5 billion—was fully funded by Mr. Tấn, who is also Chairman of the Board and CEO of KLB Investment Group. Beyond this, he has supported numerous other projects including the construction of the commune’s health station, rural roads, the restoration of the village temple, and green space development, with total contributions exceeding VND 20 billion.

“Though I left my hometown to build a career early in life, like many others, the words ‘quê hương’—hometown—still stir sacred emotions in me. That’s why, when I found success, the first thing I wanted to do was give back to this land and support people in need. My greatest wish is to see my hometown thrive,” Mr. Tấn shared.
According to Mr. Đào Huy Du, Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Quang Ruc Hamlet, local officials and social organizations have always maintained strong connections with those originally from the hamlet now living and working across Vietnam and abroad. “Thanks to the support of these hometown benefactors and the spirit of unity among the people, Quang Ruc Hamlet has developed into what it is today,” Mr. Du affirmed.

Unity as a Foundation for Growth
Quang Ruc Hamlet is home to 765 households and 2,755 residents. Though geographically distant from the district center and bordering Quynh Phu District (Thai Binh Province), the hamlet has overcome many obstacles. Traditionally reliant on agriculture, local authorities and residents have worked together to transform the local economy.
Through the guidance of mass organizations, farmers have boldly restructured crops and livestock, embraced technological advances, and introduced high-value agricultural varieties. Small industries, services, and home-based businesses have also flourished, leading to increased household incomes.
Support has been provided for loans to members of cooperatives and unions to help develop production and businesses. As a result, the village’s infrastructure and living standards have seen noticeable improvements. Narrow alleys have been replaced with concrete roads, and shabby single-story homes are now being replaced by spacious, modern buildings. Once a struggling hamlet, Quang Ruc now boasts a vibrant, prosperous community. The hamlet has over 100 wealthy households and more than 300 well-off families. The poverty rate has dropped to just 1.4%, and near-poverty households make up only 1.56%.
Quang Ruc is also active in cultural life, with 5 performance troupes, 3 volleyball teams, a soccer team, and a senior fitness club with nearly 200 members. Cultural and sports activities are held regularly. All 21 family clans in the hamlet maintain scholarship funds totaling over VND 200 million, which are used to reward students with outstanding academic achievements each year. Streets and alleys are cleaned regularly, ensuring a green, clean, and beautiful environment.
Mr. Đặng Huy Hiến, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hong Phong Commune, remarked that the residents of Quang Ruc Hamlet demonstrate great community spirit—from economic development to environmental protection, cultural events, and volunteer movements. The average annual income per capita in Quang Ruc in 2024 is estimated at VND 74 million, about VND 1 million higher than other hamlets in the commune. The unity of its people has made Quang Ruc a shining example of the “All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Cities” campaign.
